The General Design and Construction Contracting of Sun Yat-Sen University Level Four Biosafety Laboratory at South China University of Technology Project covers an area of approximately 174 acres with a total building area of about 70,000 square meters. This includes the biosafety laboratory building, animal quarantine and research center, scientific research center, and power center. The maximum building height is 23.8 meters, and the maximum single-span span is 30.5 meters. The Level Four Biosafety Laboratory at South China University of Technology was approved by the Ministry of Science and Technology in 2021. It is the first project approved in the past 17 years in China and the only P4 laboratory in South China. Once completed, it will also be the first university in China to have a Level Four Biosafety Laboratory.
